Default Finally, I decided to help these tired knees.

I can still get in the boat on good days.lol I can't jump out like my younger days. I also am too "husky" to search for the rail of the trailer when getting out. So before I did something crazy like falling at the ramp...I have a new addition.

They're getting more popular every day .... so, if I might, I'd suggest getting the steps & handrail system welded to the trailer tongue. Jus' sayin' !!

I opted for the Drotto boat latch system, for now, and bought the lock to go with it. Having the Drotto means I don't have to get out on the trailer tongue & winch the boat up the last 6-12" (as I had been doing in years past). But, the steps/handrail system is probably not all that far into the future for me, too.

I put a Trick Step on my new boat last year. Couldn't imagine fishing without one nowadays. 63 YO and 2 knee replacements.

What a great idea, and it keeps you boating before something bad happens - as you say. Enjoy it!

Mine came in yesterday from BoatEFX. Hope to get them installed this coming week. Congratulations on yours. Like you my knees are shot and I don’t jump anymore either.

Easy step system steps. They are the galvanized model. Kind of pricey but worth it to keep fishing on my own.

I've been thinking about the Drotto and that may be in the near future. Anything to ease up on a tired body...right?
