Default The Effects of a Cold front during the spring fling

Temperature here dropped about 25 to 30 degrees or more quickly and a big thunderstorm rolled in, the next day it was jacket weather and a strong north wind with a bluebird sky.
Almost said never mind to a quick lunch chase, but thought I wonder if they all packed up and went home? Pretty positive this ruined the short water festival was me , but Sure enough it was quite the opposite and there they were still in short water and with more girls in the mix than previous visits.
It actually surprised me that so many were still in less than 2 foot of water and my jig had the feel of being in the frig when it came to hand as did the fish. This is not something I would have expected and to be sure these fish are in teaching mode just about every day of the year.
It reaches a point during the reproduction venue with them in some cases that it takes way more than a quick passing thru weather change to disrupt the dance. This here tip on ketchn crappie goes like this , IF you are on a HOT bite and it seems a weather change will likely change it , you might want to second guess yourself and go pitch that jig.
Every once in while they will sure enough do what you would be pretty sure they will not ....tricky devils are these here crappie ....
saw baitfish in the slips btw and found tiny ones right on the surface with the bait over a brush pile, played with them a bit , but will spare you from viewing such nonsense this time around ....
KABOOM is the word and YES Little Red Rod got put the test again by some kinda of underwater demon that I was totally sure was the bottom of the lake and after pulling and pulling and pulling on it to dislodge my jig .....ALL the sudden the bottom took off for parts unknown and bought jerked little red out of my hand ....
hook pulled free quickly though and think it was likely a fin hooked behemoth, of some sort
p.s. the deeper water large fish seem to have left and or would not cooperate ?

I’ve found that the air and water temps changing don’t stop the spawn once it gets a good start. But will sometimes bring the aggression level of the bite way down.
I’ve learned how to pester them into biting anyway. It just adds to the challenge.
Fast falling water seems to stop it but It probably just scatters them out in deeper water until the next rise in water.
