Good job! Do you whisper yer poems to dem Slabs? Is that your secret?
for a ride in the hood ,
not terribly sure if she understood,
when she met my hand,
she failed to understand,
we wasn't going to grandmas fetchn,
we was about to go hammer ketchn,
she rode silently in the back,
right along some of her kind in a stack,
we stopped along the way,
on a windswept day,
and right off the bat , began to play ......
Now my poem skills "might" not be all that , but to be sure I have a special skill set that gets regular use. Was just picking up a few things at the local Walmart and spied her in the rack and went OH MY what a pretty little short red rod!
Thought about it briefly as I held her and said mmmmm yeppers needs to be part of the pack. 42 something and she was mine and off we went ....
What a fine little red stick she is , quite simply a lovely little vigilante , likely delicate from what I saw with a previous black version I was quite fond of, but as of now she sure enough ketches like a big red dog ....
We hit the lake and some 62 fish later I gave her a rest , she handled float pitchn well and vertical jiggin well and made me quite happy with her rather stellar first time out requirement to perform under heavy pressure.
It was one of those lunch breaks you just won't forget , the larger channel cat sunk the float in 24 inches of water and to be VERY sure lost it's kittyfish mind when I set the hook, a fella watching me heard the reel screaming and said ...
hey you need the NET?
After a rather lengthily battle she went into bite my hand mode and into that fellas fish box next ....
Sure was about as on fire as it gets, 2 yellow bass in the mix , 2 channel cats in the mix , and the rest of them were crappie in sizes all across the board .
Donated a pretty large number to the fella with the net and back to work I went.
KABOOM is the word that Little Red now understands quite well , just saying ....
p.s. the crappie.com ballcap was pleased to be part of this episode of hammer ketchn as well

heavenornot.netKetchn thanked you for this post
on the serious side I heard about a pro giving tips out recently and one of them fellas said he recommended paying close attention to the fine details, THIS is what matters even though many think it don't matter, those little things others fail to realize and or employ are often the ticket to ketchn LOTS of fish ....
