I re armed one last year. I remember the green indicator did not show in the window until I tightened the cartridge into the holder. Can't recall weather the peircer was extended or not
Hung pull rope and set unit off. Purchased a replacement. This is on an onyx bass pro with a 33 a/m replacement unit removed bobbin and cylinder. Followed directions and replaced bobbin. Question I have is why doesn't green indicator appear back in the window. Also puncture spike is still up and if I inserted the new cylinder I'm sure it would puncture it also. I have read instructions and watched u-tube videos. Do not want to mess up the one I just bought to rearm PFD. What am I doing wrong or is it possible I have a defective unit. This is basically a new PFD.

The green “ok” indicator will not show until it is pressurized! At least that is what happened with mine. Same PFD!

If you look at the bottom of it the yellow piece is a rocker arm if you take your finger by the string and push it up you will see the red go to green. As you drew the new CO2 cartridge in it pushes the needle down making the red turn to green when it is in all the way

I had a client's kid pull one when my son borrowed mine for a guide trip. I rearmed it with a new one but can't remember about the pin. To be honest, I don't think I even looked. I think skeeter96 is right that the new cartridge will push the needle back down until the bobbin gets wet again and fires it into the CO2 cartridge. This should make the green reappear when the needle resets.

Installed the cylinder and green showed so guess it's good to go. Thanks to everyone for your comments and help

Is what I wanna know is if you had the life jacket ON when you hung the cord. I did. I thought I was being attacked.

My buddy was wearing it. He reached to open compartment lid to pump up fuel bubble and caught pull rope on seat. Pretty exciting for a minute.
