    Default STILL on the ....

ORANGE , tried my most of the time FAVORITE bright yellow chart yesterday on a return visit during my lunch break , not a peck .....
put a fat ORANGE one on and KABOOM !
I am postitive color dont matter now for darn sure .....
this visit had the bite slower than the first day and even a bit slower than the second visit too , the weather keeps playing it cant decide what to do thing ....
the great news , the fish that wanted to play yesterday were jim dandy versions ....
most were had in the 18 to 24 inches of water areas with the float set about 16 inches deep ....
( did ketch me a 16 inch female out in around 8 foot of water though )
Big female crappie in that short of water on an ultra light set up are just flat out ....THE BOMB !
one sunk the float and on the hook set tore off taking line and raced all over the place , thought for sure it was a bass till it rolled up on top and man does it make me smile to see a slab like that when you are pretty sure it aint a crappie ...
used 2 different orange baits , one had a yellow belly , ran one a blue head and one on a sparkle head .....mostly pitched the float .....
until I get to go play with them again , KABOOM is still the word ya"ll
and silly me only ran a number 6 hook , but the interesting part is not a SINGLE big fish got off my lil babay hook ,,,,,go figure right ....
p.s. been pitching from the dock to the bulkhead and tried to slip up on them kinda sneaky like off the bulkhead and flat out saw all of them Fly off them beds to deep water ,,,,,,just saying

Looks like some of those big girls have been doing their job making babies, no bulging belly.

yes sir , several look really tired out , they sneak in early and most folks never know it , we see runs in late February of the biggest in a few spots , most people think they move up way later than they actually do , been told I am clueless by some of the best , but it is what it is ....for sure
