My favorite color combination! If I'm not mistaken the 1/4 oz with the #4 hook originated years ago on Kentucky Lake by some guides that wanted a smaller hook than what normally came in a 1/4 oz jig head.

Your not mistaken, those Bighead jigs like in your picture were poured and sold by Ken Riddick who guides on KY down around Big Sandy. I don’t think he sells those jigs anymore though.

Ken Riddick actually took over from the original guy, Robert Cloar. Ken Doesn't mess with it any more but after an exhaustive search I found who is making them now.

They are called Deep Ledge Jigs now. Google the Shelbyville Guide Service and go to their website to order.
