For a long time now I have left the cleaning and servicing of reels to the professionals. Just an FYI...and you may already know it....Shimano and Daiwa USA have reel cleaning services. I used to send my Stradic in twice a year to be serviced. Many times Shimano will send you back a brand new reel at no cost to you other than the 30 dollar service fee you paid when you sent reel in. I was a recipient of several new Stradics over a 3 year period.

Local bait shop owner got into the ultrasonic cleaning deal and ended up selling the business on account of health problems brought on by it. Something about breathing in the vapors of the cleaning fluid. Anyway ... be careful !!

Thanks for the warning. Cleaning solution is distilled water a little ammonia and a little dawn. Then blasted good with WD40. Lesson one. Halfway through the cycle flip the parts over and let gravity help remove bigger sediments. 2 reels cleaned and 2 to go. Then prep boat for Tuesday and Wednesday

I had narrowed my inventory on the boat and I had two reels start messing up on me at the same time. Pretty much put me back at the ramp
