Default Member rojoguio has article in OutdoorHub.com with SlabSauce

This is a great article and great idea. Check it out, here's a short quote, but do click on the article and read the rest.

“One day I was mixing up some epoxy to load into a syringe in order to fill voids in a customer’s transom,” he said. “Then the thought came to me, ‘Is the syringe is strong enough to inject a scent into a hollow-bodied tube jig?” He tried injecting a jig with a product called Slab Sauce made by Crappie.com. Guillot said the sauce is the absolute best in the world of crappie attractants....

CrappiePappy and I talked about doing this thru PM's. I like the fact the 'Gills are not stealing the attractant off my hook using Nibbles or keeping a mini Ball Jar to spray the baits with Slab Sauce. Injected, the attractant lasts almost as long as the tube does. The skirts get pulled off so one leg at a time so I don't super glue tubes. Also the inhalation rate of the jigs allows a smaller hook so I don't snag as much.

Thank you for the share rojoguio. I put the recipe in my photo gallery, as well as a copy in my hand tied jig recipe book #2. Plan on making me some up as soon as I get me some syringes...Of course I annotated who came up with the recipe, and who passed it on, giving credit where credit is due. Thank you again.

So this is the syringes I am using. They have a fine tip for injecting attractant.

I found 1/2 full works best for one handed filling of tube jigs.

I may just have to see about making a crappie.com version of this dough concoction. Slabsauce rocks.
