Default Is social networking killing your spots ?

I saw a post on Fake book the other day about someone ketchn 10 fat ones at a spot south of dfw , next day they said there were 200 people at that spot !
Hear tell this happens often though and many of the tried and true spots are not exactly a secret .
Social networking and pins on maps and so on and so forth , now am I innocent in this tail of tragedy, hardly would be my answer , if someone needs to get on fish and they are worthy I will give up the exact location to go looking for them.
Case in point was a birthday party of my bud and his brother said where you been ketchn em lately ?
So I told him about a creek he wasnt familiar with and a spawning area further away down stream in the actual lake . As we looked over the google map and I explained where to launch and what to expect ........THEN >>>
Here comes a permanent PIN set by the Google folks right on the google map to the exact spot I am showing him, the same exact spot we often visit in the winter time !
I laughed out loud as I said all down from here to there and then KABOOM there sits a pin on the " blue hole" area of the map !
Not sure if this happens in other places in the USA , but to be sure that spot is right easily found on the google map .....go figure .....
KABOOM is what it should say on the map though , just saying .....

    EXACTLY !
lets all hit google and pin up all them spots that NEVER got fish in them , it could for sure be a great advantage when you roll up on a good spot and want to park within a few miles of the spot .....

I do belong to a few groups on Facebook that deal with Crappie fishing and you simply can NOT post photos of a decent day on the water without at least a few readers asking, "what lake?" or even more specific detail than that. The correct response to that is to ignore it of course, but some guys don't have it in them to lie or actually like the attention or don't see the harm in hotspotting. I hate, hate, HATE when someone asks "what lake?" and simply don't respond at all if it's in response to one of my posts. The good news is that they're not just hotspotting your lake and your favorite spots, but everyone else's as well, so the hope is that it won't increase pressure too badly.

It's just a reflection of the fact that people today are lazy and have little interest in doing their own research or finding their own fish.
