Yep, while many of the “questions” about the big 4 on here are legit, there are some made up “first trips with my son who has never fished before” who are just phishing for info. Especially those asking for areas and spots to start.

That’s right! When I see the ones that watch me fish and never speak to me, I refer to them as vultures! LOL!!

That’s crazy about the dropped pin on Google! The other day I was fishing a dock that has produced for me in the past. Another boat pulls right up and starts casting and telling me to keep the spot a secret and not let the word get out lol. When you think you have a secret spot, chances are a few other people are already fishing it.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say I get mad when people ask, it’s just human nature. Everyone wants in on the fun. The key is to be vague and not give gps coordinates. I can say with confidence that some of my best days on the water were attributed to a nice person sharing general advice with me.

I try to not post specifics or backgrounds that are recognizable. If someone gives me a tip on where to fish, I keep my mouth shut out of respect for the person who is trying to help me.

Yep. That's why when you post a photo, post the screenshot you make of the actual photo while sitting at work or a walmart parking lot. The metadata will show you at the location you made the screenshot.

Looks like they're hanging right on the transition from grass to mulch! Even have a Crappie pointing Dog. That can't be legal?

Hear tell this happens often though and many of the tried and true spots are not exactly a secret .
Social networking and pins on maps and so on and so forth , now am I innocent in this tail of tragedy, hardly would be my answer , if someone needs to get on fish and they are worthy I will give up the exact location to go looking for them.
Case in point was a birthday party of my bud and his brother said where you been ketchn em lately ?
So I told him about a creek he wasnt familiar with and a spawning area further away down stream in the actual lake . As we looked over the google map and I explained where to launch and what to expect ........THEN >>>
Here comes a permanent PIN set by the Google folks right on the google map to the exact spot I am showing him, the same exact spot we often visit in the winter time !
I laughed out loud as I said all down from here to there and then KABOOM there sits a pin on the " blue hole" area of the map !
Not sure if this happens in other places in the USA , but to be sure that spot is right easily found on the google map .....go figure .....
KABOOM is what it should say on the map though , just saying .....
Ketchm, you have so many good fishing spots that the whole city of Ft Worth could fish them and you would still have spots to fish.
