Doesn't look so good especially since it is winter time and the water is still cool
Seen this on a couple different lakes lately. Always on the fins, usually the top fin. Any ideas what it is?

Yuck, looks like something out of a horror movie
seen it a few times on black crappie in these parts myself , but typically on the body and it looks like a rash on the skin/scaled areas ....likely bacterial is my guess ....?

Some Crappie are evolving by growing fungus so when they get caught fisherman takes one look at the growth and says " I'm not eating that fish" and then they release it.
Caught some Last week that had it on
Fins, head, side
The guy we stayed with said a biologist told him it was a fungus
