Default How do you balance poles?

I have a couple of B'n'M 14' BGJP poles with 2000 series reels that I'm trying to better balance. I tied ~6 oz. of weights on the rear and it seems to balance the pole a lot, but adds quite a bit of weight. Other than adding weights into the handle, what are some ideas to balance poles?

Adding weight to the rear or removing weight up front. Tennessee reel handles allow to to move the reel on the handle to achieve balance. A bigger reel would add weight and also help balance the rod.

My 14' rods have line counter reels on them & they go in rod holders ... ain't no way I'm using them for vertical jigging

BUT .... if you are --- a balanced outfit of that length may be "heavy", but an unbalanced (tip heavy) outfit will wear you out a lot faster.

That is some fun fishing for sure. Good sized trigger fish are fun to catch as well off the wrecks

I’ve done that while working offshore, but we rigged up an air tigger to pull up the amberjack in the deeper waters. Lol.

Holding the pole isn’t much of an issue, but trying to use it to drop on crappie all day will get tiring if on the fish.

My go to with livescope is a 12’ rod, but looking to utilize the 14’ if I find them too spooky with the 12. The 14’ will be mostly used for techniques that allow it to be in a rod holder.

A larger reel would help a lot to balance a 14' rod.
