I mainly use Chartreuse or pink heads.
I have a lot of confidence in Pink. Red is my go to head for darker colored jigs and I also use plain unpainted heads when using shad colored baits.

I have about 85% of all the colors Protec offer. My favorite color is the one I feel like using that day. Variety is the spice of life

If I want to make a lure appear larger or longer I use the same color jig. Rarely do I need to do that and have been
using unpainted jigs for skirted bass jig, spinnerbaits and soft plastics. Lure action is far more important.

I have more success using unpainted heads than I do any color.

Oh, they can be. Many's the time I've had on one color & my partner another and one of us is catching while the other is not, only to start catching when the color is changed to the productive one. And yes, we're using the same bait, line size/color, and casting into the same spot. I've even talked to people on the water, asking them how they're doing & have them say "not so good". Then offer them to start using a specific color, one we've been tearing them up on, and hear them hoot & hollar a few minutes later & farther down the bank when they start catching fish, too.
But, yeah ... it ain't ALWAYS that way. We fished one local lake for almost 8yrs throwing the same color & bait, and catching fish regularly. Then they seemed to not care for that color anymore, & we changed & changed until finding a color they liked, but even now it's a experiment for the first few hours to find out what color they prefer that day.

I love bright jig head colors. But I use plain lead jig heads as I am too cheap to buy the painted ones and am too lazy to color the ones I buy in bulk.
