DIY shallow water anchors

Has anyone here tried something like this? I'm thinking about getting 2 to assist with livescoping in shallowish water to make things more kid friendly. Was wondering if anyone else had experience with these before I bite the bullet and buy them

I've saw some that they boater put a lopp on their trolling motor & one near the baack on each side of an aluminum rig & ran a piece of sharpened rebar down into the bottom to hold boat in place.

I have a set of 12 foot poles. They work pretty good in 8 feet or less of water. I fabricated a couple of mounts utilizing the cleats on the boat, but have since came up with a mounting system on each side of the jack plate that I like much better. Having said all that, I rarely use them. I either spot lock or drag log chains

At one time I thought about them for my kayak but never bought or made any. Now I don’t think I would have used them much. I hardly anchor or stay in one spot enough to use them and if I do it’s either deep water or I use an anchor.

I have one on my boat.
I am pretty sure it is called a spike it or stick it or something like that.
Never used it but it’s there. Lol

I have two I made out of long landscape spikes I bought from Lowes. In the spring time our crappie are in 3ft or less of water and you really want to probe the buck brush to find those spawners. Keep the boat parallel to your fishing spot is crucial. It works much better when you have a guy on the front of the and one at the back. Put down the stakes and fish the brush, pull up the stakes and move 20ft and repeat.
