I have a ego old style not the red one and a outlaw nwt.Prefer the ego but i usually fish alone. The ego is easier to handle and its shorter when collapsed so it stores better.

Holy moly at the prices of these nets! What is the difference between these nets and my old beater aluminum hoop net?

If it broke, don’t upgrade it. If what you’re using is working for you, don’t spend your money on a new one. Those ego nets are over rated. Had to send mine back twice before I gave up on it.

I used an EGO for years….got it when they first came out. During that time I owned 2 of them. After about 4 years the first one would no longer slide. While it was out of warranty I called EGO and they sent out a newer version at no cost to me. I used it for about 6 years and it just was too heavy for me to handle anymore. Or I guess I should say I just didn’t want to heft it around anymore. When I left TN for Arkansas last September I gave the net to a friend and a local guide. He was happy to get it and uses it on his fishing trips. My take is the net is heavy. The customer service is great….at least they were when I dealt with them. I purchased an telescoping net out of Japan. It has a carbon handle and extends to 10 feet. When retracted it is about 18 inches…and very light. The light part is really why I got it….it weighs 1.3 pounds. The weight of the EGO didn’t bother me until I got into my late 60’s…LOL.

    Regards

I like mine. I have the larger hoop and use it for trolling walleye. I also have a smaller ego net that I use for crappies. Both are flat bottom pvc coated mesh. Havent had a single issue yet, i really do like them.

What's the name of the net? What web site?

Love my ego reach! Had it for a while and does everything I want it to. Easy to retract and extend and love the material the net is made of. Hooks don't get caught up in the netting like most. Heck for this price I might buy another one for a back up.
