Personally, i've never noticed a difference... I'm the same with deer too, a buck tastes the same as doe meat to me. But, i imagine if there's any difference i probably cover it up with cajun seasoning!!
This Horse has been rode before. But don’t majority here prefer to eat 10-12” crappie over 15” and up. I do. Biguns are fun to catch but I prefer a 10.5” with good shoulders to bring home. And sometimes (ain’t kept them seperate but goin to for test purposes) some of these bigger fish hav lots more ‘fishy’ taste. I suspect male fish on this?

I have not noticed any difference
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Never noticed the difference in taste myself.
The bigger fish I will cut the filets in half sometimes but that's just so it cooks faster and at the same rate as the other fish. I like the dry batter hot and fast fry method.
They all taste good to me! I don’t think size has as much to do as where they are caught…. Fish caught out of Grenada lake taste completely different than fish caught out of say lake Washington a Mississippi River oxbow lake and both of those taste different than a crappie caught out of a farm pond or smaller body of water

I think where they are caught (type and condition of water) does make a difference.

Water temp, changes the taste and texture for me more than size

If deep fried they are really not different but pan fry I prefer 10-12”.
