    what rods would handle the heavy weight of pushing crankbaits.

    I use PST’s but don’t push anything as heavy as 5 ounces. 3 is about as heavy as I ever need.

    I'm using Diawa Beefstick 12' Surf casting rod with 6 oz going 2.1 mph.

    I don’t push I pull. Use standard medium weight poles with light tip. All 8 ft.
