    Default Hour meter

My new boat doesn’t have a hour meter, most all of the oil changes and maintenance has to be done at different hour intervals, has anyone here ever installed one? Will it hurt my warranty if I put one on? Never installed one but it can’t be that difficult. Any suggestions.

Id put one on. No it doesn’t void warranty. I put one on my boat when I bought it. Makes it easy to keep up with maintenance times.

    Regards

What motor? Mercury has vessel view mobile that will allow you to view all your information on a phone/tablet

I installed one on my boat.
I think the wife ordered it for me on Amazon.
Just wrap it around a spark plug wire and sticks on with double sided tape.
It is small an will fit under the hood with no problem.
    Very inexpensive.

A simple way to install one in your dash, just connect one wire to ground and the other wire to your ignition switch. Just don't leave your ignition switch on without the motor running or you will add non-running time to the meter.

Most motors have something like Mercury's Vessel view these days.

Like Chuck said just wrap it around it around spark plug wire. Easy to install. Mine also came from Amazon. I have had one on the last 2 boats I have owned.

I bought a new Mercury 115 last year. Don't know how many hours I have on it. It wasn't used too heavily though. How much does Vessel View cost?

What if you have a 4s with coil over plugs?

About 200. It shows you a lot of important stats, basically the same as smart craft gauges. If you just want to know past hours, you can take it to a boat service shop and have them do a scan and printout on it.
