Lightest rod for livescope

Hello guys, looking for my best way to fish livescope, looking for a light 10-12 ft rod, I have 30, 12 foot rods now, but fishing with them for a hour or so makes my forearm tired. Looking for the best spilt shot of lead to use also above my jig. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The 12 footer I have now I bought for vertical trolling. Would like to know your jig setup too if you would.

Instead of split shot I have started using the bobber stops, bead and egg sinker. This I feel like is a better setup and when I change I don't have to crimp my line or move the split shots, just slide weight up the line. Here is an article from earlier.

The BnM Russ Bailey is what I use paired with a Pflueger President 20. Well balanced and light IMHO

I'm using a 12' BnM Diamond Series rod with a Okuma Stratus STX 20 reel ... 6# test Vicious Panfish hi-viz line ... double jig rig (top jig on loop knot - bottom jig on with Improved Clinch knot).

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that those rods/reels you use, that wear out your forearm after an hour or so of use, are tip heavy,,,, likely having too light weight of a reel to balance the rod length.

I do believe you are right crappiepappy, those rods have 1000 or maybe 2000 shimano reels, pretty cheap reels but good for vertical trolling.

It gives you an idea of another way to add weight above jig besides split shot. After having used it some I think it's better than doing the split shot.

I am going to try that rig out, if my lithium battery comes early enough to get it installed, hope so cause rain moving in later in the day for next few days.
