My arm was getting sore as your's is...so I mounted a rod holder in the deck next to my seat that holds the pole straight up/out of the water. I troll around 'searching' with LS till I find a 'target', get lined up/set up and THEN get the rod up/out...basically sniping. Arm doesn't hurt much anymore...except from pullin'em in. Main thing is to not hold the pole all the time.
hey dickieboy that sounds pretty good there, that rod gets heavy over time, i dont care how light it is.

My favorite rods right now are the Kevin Rogers Signature Series. I have the 10 and 13 footers. Both mid seat and loaded with Presidents.
I have ACC, BnM and several others on board but seem to just keep the Kevin Rogers in my hand all day.
I stand up all day but lean against my Mellinium palmal seat. Don’t use my remote much and foot on trolling motor pedal all the time. Don’t spot lock unless re tying.
Can’t go wrong with the Kevin Rogers.

    String type is old school.
We even used rubber bands way back before the string type.

I mostly use my Kevin Rogers rods now but also use Huckabees which are heavier. When I hold the rod I make sure to have the butt of the rod handle against my elbow. I used to not to and my arm would get warn out quicker.
