    I just cut the small end off one of my rod tubes and used that tube to feed wires back and forth from my black boxes to my units. Kept me from having to cut a hole in my rod box.

    Definately want to secure the battery down from bouncing around. It would be ok, in my opinion, to have an open top but make sure nothing gets on your post, dip net, lid, ect.

    to solve that problem I cut off a piece of swim noodle and sliced it to fit tight over the post so that doesn't happen
