I fished with a friend 2 days ago that has livescope, for me it was the first time. And I had a hard time seeing my jig with livescope, would a larger profile with a flat headed jig work better, how about braided line?

I fish braid with jig tied directly to it.
    Palomar knot. Zero issues.
I think people that have trouble seeing their baits just don’t have the unit set correctly or the angle is wrong.

Having the bait perfectly horizontal is the biggest key to a good sonar return.

You can see the knot joining a braid to fluorocarbon leader easily if it’s in the beam, it’s not the jig head or sinkers that really matter. 95 percent of the people having trouble seeing their bait aren’t putting the bait in the beam or are trying to fish in the dead spot.

I agree with statement 100%. But sometimes I can just barely see my jig, maybe it’s just close to the edge of the beam. But when I do see it, and get it close to his nose, sometimes I feel the THUMP…that’s what we all like.

Has anyone tried flattening the front and/or sides? Maybe a little file or rasp to a 1/16 plain lead head? I ready for a Livescope!

The best way you can modify that 1/16 jig learning to Livescope is put a 3/8oz or 1/2oz weight a foot or two above the 1/16 where you can actually stay in the beam a little easier. You can fish a 1/16 jig alone and keep it in the beam but it’s a lot easier with more weight.

Yeah, I took a small egg weight, put a drill bit in it, then squashed it square in the vise. It didn't stand out any better than a egg shaped one.

After a few hours of holding a 11ft pole with a egg weight added, it kicked my butt. I've gone mostly to running a 1/16 & 1/32oz double jig around 16" apart, I can clearly see it and fish it 8hrs.
