    Default Good basic jigheads?

What's everybody's opinion on jig heads for crappie? I'm trying to settle on a style head for soft plastics in the 2" range. I'm wanting to order some 1/16 & 1/8 oz. heads in bulk. I'm using 15lb. braid with 10 lb. leader & wanting something that will bend out if hung. I'm not sure about sickle hooks because it almost seems like i get less hookups on them compared to plain old cheap eagle claw roundball heads with aberdeen hooks. Want something cheap & affordable in bulk that will get the job done. What about painted versus unpainted? Give me some ideas guys.

Pretty easy to powder paint your own. I like sickle hooks myself. They are much harder to bend out and pull free in my opinion

Just buy unpainted round head, barbed collar, with eagle claw 570. I dont have issues bending them out of most structure with 10-15lb braid. I like #4 hooks for sub 2" baits and #2 for baby shads and bigger on 1/16. All 1/8 i get are #2. I can help get you some at cheap bulk price if you are wanting to go that route, just shoot me a message.

I agree with Kevin. I don't like to go smaller than #4 in the 1/32 or 1/16 jigs. I like a #2 in my 1/8 oz. jigs.

I am a big fan of the sickle hook or a light wire hook for crappie the light wire in a number 2. It a J bend. The sickle I like in a #4. I fish with a painted head, but I sell way more of the unpainted.
If you want a hook that will open up when hung a light wire hook is the way to go.

Why such a big hook? Only the tip just past the barb goes in the fish
