Find someone local who does magnet fishing. It’s popular on YouTube. I do it some around here. It’s essentially a strong magnet on a rope. You drop it in the water and see what you find. People love to do that at popular fishing spots for this exact reason. It’s worth a shot

I lost this rod in 54 feet deep, don’t know if it will work but I will try. I put a waypoint on my dads gps when I lost it.

You don’t want to try swimming for it?

Never hurts to try to get it but that deep it’s probably gone. Good luck

I never lost a rod but I did lose a anchor. My son will tell you that I will go off if you lay your rod down to talk on the cell phone.

I use the black foam insulation tubes on all my planer board rods now. I use a piece about a foot long from handle to 4-5 inches from first guide. So far has saved me 2 rods

don’t think I can hold my breath that long, and couldn’t see when or if I got down there.

I put a quick disconnect leash on every rod that's ever been in my kayak. It is kind of a p.i.t.a. at first, but I've never lost a rod. You're limited to how far it can travel (which you get accustomed to), but the quick disconnect makes it easy to switch rods into different rod holders. Had a few big cats try to snatch the rods out of the holders & make off with the rod, but they didn't get away with any.

54 feet of water makes it likely gone for good , they rarely go straight down and who knows what direction it might have decided to sink . Sorry for your loss , a lanyard on your wrist and or a tether in the rod holder is probably a train of thought you should consider , anything permanently attached like foam or a noodle , aint gunna help much in the ketchn dept. for sure , just saying .
