    Default St Croix Panfish

Anyone have the panfish or avid panfish, specifically in the 7 foot ML range?

How do these compare to the regular avids, premier, triumph, mojo etc?

I have the St. Croix Avid Panfish 7 foot ML and also Light. I don't have anything to compare them to. I know I like the light better than the ML for vertical jigging. My Favorite is the St Croix Avid panfish 6 foot 9 inch ultra light. I can not put it down.

Bend is a little different, panfish are a softer tip.

Guides on panfish are the super thin ones to shed weight

Cork on the panfish is much thinner, again to shed weight.

I love the panfish series rods, but they keep going up in price!

They are nice rods for sure. You can also check out some JDM rods. Lots of great choices out there.

As @kevin22 says tip a bit softer. It is my wife’s favorite rod, I prefer a bit stiffer. That sounds a bit kinky but I am not smart enough to word better sorry

42 years at the same job this May. Worked hard, had professionals invest my money. About to turn 60 in February. Going to spend the rest of my Life on the thinks that have brought me the most joy in life. Fishing, Food and F----Fun with my wife. Rather enjoy all that hard work than have my kids waste it on $35K side by sides or whatever.
