Default do COLORED blades make a difference?

I'm talking about beetle spins, inline spinners, road runners etc., I ususally use bright(silver type) in bright conditions and brass/gold in low light. I was browsing through a parts catalog and it seems like there are a million choices of painted blades. The only colored blades that I have used were a Mepps with black blade spinning around a yellow body for contrast and then white willows on a crappie spin. My question is does it really help any to use colored blades?

    thanks

p.s. if you never looked at a Hagens parts catalog, you need to take look, there is a ton of stuff in there LOL

I had a really good day last year throwing a 1/16 beetle spin with a chartreuse blade. I lost it and tied on the same body with a normal silver blade and wasn't doing very well at all, then I switched back to chartreuse and started catching fish again. It was very sunny that day and i think they shy away from flashy blades on bright sunny days sometimes.
