I use a large needle that serves as my bodkin, too.
I frequently see pics of rubber legs(I guess silicone spinnerbait skirt material) sticking out the sides, how to you get them through a grub/jig body?
thanks!

Maybe they will bite this one……S10CHEVY LIKED above post
There are several ways. Here is one thread on them doing it the easy way with a large needle.

There are also videos on You Tube if you are hand tying jigs. Here are two.

PM me your address and I’ll send you a couple. I use them in my taxidermy studio and save the ones that get dull. Still work great for plastics.

I have used a bobbin threader in the past. Its basically just a looped thin stainless steel wire. Poke it through the body, put rubber legs the loop, pull loop back through body holding one end of the legs, adjust length and trim excess. Im sure you probably have a piece of wire laying around that will work.

The way I do it is tie the legs to the hook then tie in the chenille, wrapping over and around the rubber legs.
