    Which makes sense because they have been exposed to the environment for a shorter period of time. They have ingested a smaller amount of contaminates during that time.

    It's also true that "bottom feeders" tend to accumulate more of the heavy metals (PCB, mercury, chromium, etc.) ... like some Carp, Catfish, Drum, etc.
