Both exchanged their units for b/w(at Cabelas), they will indeed read to.4 mph.
Makes no sense to me why this is, Lowrance offered no explination for the difference. Also the color is hard to see in bright sunlight. The b/w unit is absolutely great, with a navionics chip in it ,it is a great tool for crappie fishing. Hope this helps you. possum1
never would have thunk it - I have a b&w garmin 76 maps and it will read .1 and .2 mph would never have thought color would have made a difference - I will have to ask Garmin if it makes a difference in their units
    Thanks Possum

Spend a tad more for a Garmin 76S. Mine has served me wonderful for years without a hitch(on & off the water). Plus Garmin has great tech support - not on hold forever and the human on the other end speaks ENGLISH.
