Default The devils in the details as they say

So many times I see folks not seeing the writing on the wall .
To busy with other things I suppose , my advice is this ...
pay close attention to the details .
case in point , worked to get bit and then you notice a tiny floater.
spit out by your last victim .....
such is often a simple overlooked detail that makes all the difference.
they say color dont matter and I often hear that about size as well .
both are inaccurate statements, and this is a fact , just a quick fyi
in this episode of the hammer, the first fish was a monster bass I "almost" got to hold a few times before it cut my line off under the dock on the metal. obviously forcing me to tie on a new jig ,,,,sorry Junglejim about losing that pretty first feather jig , btw ....
the good news is I had a pretty bare jig I painted and put a couple of pilfered dragon eyes on and a bright yellow limits tackle split tail in my pocket and silly me stumbled into , EXACTLY what the crappie wanted ...go figure ...
    KABOOM is the word
p.s. for the more scientific and or superstitious crowd , it "could" have just been due to the pretty crappie.com ballcap and tshirt I was wearing ....

I haven’t caught anything worthy of a pic in my last trip.

In your estimation, how big was the bass? Details certainly matter whether it's sunny, windy or water clarity, bait size, etc. It's something I ask myself before I make a cast. I'm superstitious and when I have a good day I even take into account what I was wearing that day and wear the same clothes the next trip. If that day isn't very good than I can blame my wife for washing them. Just had to be her fault and not something I did.

Kietch, as always beautiful shots. Love the detail and colors. What camera do you use if you don't mind.
