Default Anybody else fish winter crappie docks?

I seldom see any posts about it. October to June I知 on 1 of 5 docks I fish most every day. Also just ordered 2 Crappie.com stickers I知 going to put on my dock buckets.

I shoot docks in the winter. Find a dock the like and there is some good fishing. Pontoon boats can be hot during the winter also

I remember as a kid going to a fishing dock in Oklahoma. Looked like a cool way to fish in the dead of winter. A fishing dock is sometimes a closed in dock with a large hole in the center. There is usually a rail around the hole to keep kids and stuff from falling in. I've seen where some even have wood stoves or heaters inside.

2 of mine have enclosed heated spaces, the other 3 are just brushed out boat slips but Oklahoma weather isn稚 to bad.

I知 the guy fishing them from the other side. Working a jig thru the hanging brush is my addiction.

I love docks, I hit lots of them. I like the private or reduced access ones best, but I often hit public spots too.
I hit them year-round and have about 15 or 20 on my list on several different lakes.
I have managed to ketch lake record fish on several of them as well.
So, no I don't hit just the "winter" docks, I hit all of them according to the season and rainfall amounts and etc. etc.
Some are in 4 feet of water and some in 40 feet of water and some are legendary crappie docks in this part of the world.

Fishing, shooting, docks is my go-to way. I fish them year-round. I have found it is good to have several favorite ones and to be open to trying new ones also.

I was converted to dock fishing last year when I moved my pontoon to Lake Worth, where there wasn't much structure and brush so I was forced to fish docks. Ketchn helped with the converson.

Lake Washington is about the same, with more docks than structure. So I expect to be fishing docks here the year around along with what structure I can find.

A word of caution. Please be careful shooting pontoons. Their gas lines are exposed and it is expensive replacing a high pressure gas line that somebody dock shooting punctured with their jig. Plus custom covers for pontoons can cost $1000 so their owners are not very happy when they find holes and tears ripped in them by jigs and lures. I know this from sad experience. I shoot docks but I don't shoot pontoons nor near any boat that is in a slip.
