Some folks wait so long to set the hook that they bleed out right in their hands , just saying
I watched a. Idea on utube by a fellow that calls himself or channel (walking on water) or wow. I don’t know how to upload a video, so he has a video on bleeding out crappie, he takes the crappie after he unhooks it and cuts one side of the crappie gills, and then put him in a plastic fish basket hanging beside the boat, and you can see the water around the crappie look red. Wondering if anyone out there has tried this, or if it would change the taste of it. Look him up on utube bleeding out crappie by wow.
thanks

My opinion is crappie taste so good naturally that you do not have to bleed them out.

Helps on saltwater fish. Freshwater ones- not so much. Never have.
