Scenario : hammering like a madman, 200 or more per visit, float down EVERY cast and a yak pulls up in front of you in your spot on the creek .
You move a bit down to not Create a larger issue and he moves and blocks you yet again. This goes on repeatedly as you rip em like a fishing show . He never ketches a SINGLE fish .
No words exchanged and you are just a grinning like a Cheshire Cat as you toss em back in the water after a photo. You really want to tell him what a rude you know what individual he is , but avoid dialogue due to the possibility of a really bad situation gone way worse.
He eventually moved on and it really didn’t slow you up much , but one wonders if one should push it , a simple video of him doing it over and over will get him a big fine as it is illegal to harass any person in the pursuit of fish and or game law biding sportsman in our state .
2 days in row btw and 2 different individuals ....
Would never have been an issue years ago , but in this brave new world it is quite commonplace to break laws and be rude and have the who cares attitude.
How would you keep it from escalating is my question, really thought about a weighted float and an “errant” High velocity zinger cast , but as daddy said , son the true test of good manners is putting up with bad manners.
Seems to get worse down there every year , maybe just not hit that creek anymore?
Just wondering is me

This was how it was handled both times .... I just kept smiling even though right on the tip of my tongue was words he probably never EVER heard before
Second fella was more just watching during his encroachment and eventually started to ask questions about what I was doing so different than him. He was the weighted float fella running his jig way to fast for crappie and just Ketchn small sandbass .

I would have just carried on minding my business and hope he moved on. That is extremely rude to invite himself to the KABOOM party.
My buddy had that problem with a sail boat years ago. It was settled by a well placed muskie lure to the sail. Message received

I have to bite my tongue at about every outing.
I think to myself…they are lucky this didn’t happen 30-40 years ago!! Lol
Years ago while sauger fishing I was anchored in current and a boat pulled along side within casting distance. I was vertical fishing and catching fish right beside the boat. This guy was making 40 foot cast coming within 10 feet of me. He was getting hung up and breaking off a lot as I was catching keeper sauger.
Finally I just said…do you want to fish in my boat??? He didn’t respond and eventually moved away.

I'm sorry but I am not that forgiving of those who show no regard for anybody other than themselves. Both of them were probably ignorant, having never been taught manners by their parents.
If he kept his yak outside my casting area and was just casting into the area I was fishing I would have no choice but to ignore it. But if he moved into the area I was casting I would have asked him to move farther out so my lures would not hit him as I casted.. I would have been polite but I would have asked him to move so I could continue casting.

Any day I'm fishing is a good day, regardless of what I catch.
