Gonna be pretty cold around here for the next few days. Grabbed some gas for the generator, just in case it takes the lines down.

I feel for you facing these extremely cold days.

I'm lucky. Today is the coldest day here and that is only 26 degrees. The next ten days will be in the 40s but it will be raining all week so I still will not be able to go out on the lake.

I talked with a friend in Arlington this morning. He said it was 11 degrees today but would be back in the mid-50s Monday and the high 60s by Wednesday. Definitely better winter fishing weather there
    than here is Tacoma.

I don’t think we are going to get a lot of snow. No more than a couple of inches if it stays around with this wind. Temp is now 12 with a wind chill of -7 as wind is constant 24 mph with gust at 40 so far. I’m smoking a 20 lb ham in the smoker right now with the smoker next to the front door on the front porch. Should be done in a hour. I have 30 gallons of gas for generator as we will probably loose power where I live. We just have too many dead ash trees near power lines in this county and they constantly get blown down. Might get lucky and keep power in,,just never know. Stay safe.

If it’s calcium chloride your good to -25 for melting ice. Rock salt and all others quit working at 20 F to 0 F degrees.

We have 2-3” of snow, winds howling, thermometer on our deck showing close to zero F. Took our Boykin out to pee and she did it in record time. She came from South Georgia and probably hasn’t seen anything like this.

Where I am at in Wyoming it has been below zero for almost 48 hours now, with the coldest temperature being about 28 below zero. Wind chills have reached minus 50 because during the lowest air temps the winds were only moderate.

Other areas of Wyoming got more snow and had colder air temperatures and higher wind chill values.

Needless to say we will be ice fishing for a while.

ClearCreek..you guys are definitely getting pounded. We are down to 3 with wind chill at -20 and wind at constant 24 gusting to 40. Still getting snow projected for 4 more hrs. Heck of it is,,by Christmas Sunday we will start warm up and week from this Thursday, it’s forcast daily temp for high willl be 50. Makes what ice we have unsafe to fish.

The Shepherd has me up at 3am to go check on everything. Long thick hair on that dog and she loves the cold. Wind is screaming out. Spitting snow with very little of any staying in place. Certainly is cold out. Went a d made sure the chickens heated waters are work and back inside for me.
