    Default braid color & size?

What are some of the guys that fish green & cumberland favorite braid color to be less visible to fish & line sizes & do you use a leader?

    I use blue..yellow.. camo.
No specific lakes since I usually fish Taylorsville.
No leader and tie directly to the braid with palamar knot.

I fish a bright yellow, bright orange. Smallest diameter I can get. I like the 8/1 but often have to settle for 10/2

I second this. I like the lowest diameter braid I can find in high-vis yellow. I use mostly Power Pro and tie directly with no leader. Our lakes are pretty murky and our crappie are not line shy.

Moonshine is a nice color on Power Pro Slick8

Thanks guys. I've been using diawa j braid in hi viz yellow with a leader most times. I wondered about lo viz green or gray tied straight to the jig in something 10lb. or so. My buddy uses 6lb. mono & catches more crappie than i do usually but i don't want to mess with the line twist of mono that he does either. I started using straight braid on my bass tube rod last summer to eliminate line twist & couldn't be happier so i definitely want to stay with braid.

The only time I pull out the mono is for sub freezing temps. Some of the really cold days braid will be froze into the guides.

I don't think it matters all that much on Green River Lake, but on Lake Cumberland I'd use a leader.

I've used different brands, colors, & sizes of braid over the years (8/1 green - 10/2 chartreuse - 15# white - 20/6 grey) but the only one I've used for casting purposes is the 10/2 Hi-vis PowerPro ... and never used a leader. But then I haven't fished Cumberland more than a handful of times in the last decade or two.

I have gone to braid on everything.
    Mostly 10-2.
I think I知 catching less fish but also loosing less jigs!!
I think I値l go back to mono on casting and pitching poles.
I might even go to a leader on my long poles for vertical fishing but I値l have to use a small swivel to connect the two.
I am really bad at tying a uni knot to connect braid to mono.
Anyone else catch more fish with mono over braid or is it just me??

My buddy uses mono & catches more than me usually. I do tie a leader on my acc crappie stix 13 footer. I've tried it with a swivel but honestly on the heavier action rod i get less tangling without it. I swing pretty hard too & if you miss the line can become a tangled mess instantly with the swivel so i just add a bobber stop to the braid just incase i add a split shot or two, tie a double uni knot to join a leader & have at it. The other rods i use are lighter in action & I've fished with & without a swivel & haven't had any problems either way.
