Shipahoy41 has been unanimously voted Crappie.com 2022 Man of the Year. He was nominated, and our Supermods voted and made it official. Shipahoy41 has been on Crappie.com for many years helping folks, giving them encouragement, and posting fishing tips/techniques. He has exemplified the spirit of the award.


Ship is renowned here for a number of reasons, two of which I will mention. He is an idea man. He comes up with inventions, and ideas for lures. He readily shares them here on the Crappie.com. He often helps others with their own ideas. I'm sure his shared wisdom has directly contributed to the catching of many, many crappie.


And probably more importantly, Reverend Michael C. Carter, aka Shipahoy41, has provided spiritual wisdom and guidance here on Crappie.com. He never misses an opportunity to pray for someone in need. And he just does not simply say “Prayers Sent” (nothing wrong with that), but he actually posts a prayer specific to the individual's needs. Especially these days, we need someone like Shipahoy41 in our lives.


Ship, hopefully receiving this award makes you feel warm (kinda like the 41 in your name, wink wink). It is a wonderful achievement. Thank you for being part of our lives here on Crappie.com.

All I can say is I truly am blessed to have been chosen Man of the year. I feel like I am not worthy because I was doing what the bible says to treat others as you would love to be treated. I have been away on South Carolina to attend my granddaughter graduation from Lander University. We will always try to encourage everyone on here
Thanks to all who thought I would be worthy of this high honor. Thank you to Slab for his own visionary ideas for this website. I pray the blessings of God upon all of you. I am posting a photo from my granddaughter graduation and a Christmas blessing for all of you.

I read all of Ships post and watch his videos. It’s easy to tell he is dedicated to the sport and to CDC.

There is a book my wife likes called 100 ways to please your lover. She loves #41 which was have a hot bathrobe from the dryer for your spouse after they have taken a shower. It will be 53 years of marriage on this Saturday and the dryer still works. Wink Wink

You got me Slab. After I checked in this morning I started the long drive back home from South Carolina. Atlanta was a traffic nightmare. This in not good for a man who will be 80 in three years as my children often remind me. This is what I sent this this morning. LOL.
