Default When You’re Hot You’re Hot

And when you’re not you’re not! Such has been my experience while crappie fishing. There have been times, when I am on them and they are flaming hot! Other times I have deployed the same techniques in the same location and had drastically different results. I guess that’s why they call it fishing and not catching.

Last week, I had a new personal best. I left with 18 keepers, and probably caught 40. These fish were caught vertical jigging with my trusty 11 foot rods. Naturally, after having such great success, I had to go get a taste again. As the world turns, and the grease burns, the fish keep moving on. I deployed, identical techniques and colors, but my second trip I left with 4 keepers and might have caught 10. The 4 were donated to a good friend for tacos! Sharing is caring y’all.

It has been said, that weather has a profound effect on fish. That, too, has been my experience. Light mist right before Front, I, absolutely hammered them, and got closer to a limit than I have ever gotten before. A few days later after the front, the fish were there, I could see them on my live scope, but alas, they were not interested in any of my offerings.

All in all, I had a great time catching fish and discovered a new place to employ my shenanigans. Thanks to all on Crappie.com for the pointers and advice to get me on fish.

    God bless you all.

Good job. I've seen two guys fish the same spot at the same time. One caught fish, the other didn't. they switched sides, the same one caught fish, the other didn't. We even switched poles, and the guy catching continued to catch, while the guy who wasn't catching, still didn't catch anything. Some days, you got it, some days you don't. When I say switch sides, there bait was literally 6" apart and switch sides.

Likely a high barometric pressure and then the locals pressure too ...
Once the water gets cold here they often times want the bait very still
I imagine this latest weather chilled the water down fast ...
Give it a few days of steady weather and they might come back around, said might .....
One thing for certain it ain’t always a cake walk , glad you found them biting good first trip.
