But then again as the sometimes popular professionals say , he is just a bank fisherman , so what could he possibly know
Takes a lot more skill to catch em from the bank that from a brand new shiny boat with livescope… but hey I’m like you what do I know haha

That being said the crappie nibbles are easier to use than the fire balls… slab sauce is good stuff too but a almost always use scent of some sort

Scents are confidence builders if you believe . Crappie are sight feeders . I like scent oils mainly to help slide jig heads inside tubes . I say if it helps your confidence then use them .

[QUOTE=fredo;4313469]Nibbles are great: cheap, simple to use, stay on the hook, not messy, available at most Walmarts. [/QUOte They sure don't last like that for me.

If you use them straight out of the jar, they will soak up water & become even softer than they are in the jar. Best case is to let a few of them air dry awhile before putting them on a hook. In either case, it only takes one peck from a Bluegill to remove them from your hook, which is why I stopped using them some years ago.

Fish have a very good sense of smell so scents work well. Especially on the bigger fish. Do some research on it.

I split them into two jars. This lets them get air and dry a little and become firmer. I do this with every new jar I open. Been working for me for years. I don’t leave home without some nibbles.

Nibbles straight out of the jar work pretty well , we often see them still on jigs after we ketch fish . Alot of if a nibble won't stay on the jig is actually due to misuse of some kind. Not on the hook right in most cases and or as mentioned some pecking type of fish.

I haven't used nibbles much lately but see evidence of them every time I get in my truck. There's glitter from the nibbles on my steering wheel and it won't come off, probably got baked on in the summer months. I think the glitter resembles scales adding to the baits effectiveness. A couple of rod twitches and the glitter floats down and attracts the fish.

Yeah I’d heard that on the silver glitter nibbles. I have a bottle to try out but plan on keeping that glitter far away from the truck or house. Ok if it gets in my kayak.
