Same as Jack .... used mine a few times and then it just kinda disappeared. I understood the idea behind the design (holding the head of the fish to free a hand), but quickly realized that "free hand" still had to hold the board AND fish steady while the other hand cut the fish.

But, to be fair, Joe ... it could come in handy for cleaning fish in places where there are no cleaning setups, but that still allow the cleaning of fish to be done there.

Well, I'll be the odd one and say that I like them very much when filleting without a power knife. I actually have one on each end of my board to keep the back of the fish toward me as I fillet.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

I made one out of a 2x6 and a nail at the head end. Impale the fish head thru the nail and start cleaning. I have the board bolted to a old ironing board to keep it from moving around.

    That's a good idea.

I got mine a few years ago. Rapala brand. The clip is good and strong. Use it every time I clean fish at home

I have one I use for catfish, not for crappie or bluegill.
