I second all of the above suggestions especially skips jigs. They are the best tied jigs I've ever had in my hands. Also, get some of his glow jigs. The only other suggestion I'd make is Christmas colored berkley power grubs and berkley gulp grubs that are available only from Cabelas.

My go to is a white/clear sparkle, with a 1/32 oz. minnow head, with wobbly eyes and a #4 hook.

It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

Thanks Grizz I really appreciate the kind words about my work. I do my very best to make a good looking jig that holds up well. The Glow Jigs are something else huh? I know they cost a little more than regular jigs, but I spend a good bit more time on them and I have to do all the things to them that I do to a regular jig and then make them Glow.

FYI I am glad to see many here like Souther Pro as I am taking them on to sell so my customers can get both hand tied jigs and soft plastics at the same spot. I will also start selling jig heads with a collar to go with the soft plastics. I am also adding in the Aurora Green Lights and I am adding these products just to have more items to offer and have a good choice for the fishermen.

16th oz unpainted minnow shaped jighead with a red hook. 2" Bobby Garland "Sassy Shad" soft plastic. Gray with a black stripe down the back and red flakes. Fish like 'em better than minnows. "Bleeding Shad" I think is the name of the color. Awesome for vertical jigging.

    Default Sliders

No one has mentioned crappie slider grubs, 1 and 1/2 inch. They have been deadly this year for me in PA. Was catching 20-25 nice slabs in an hour or so with the watermelon/chartreuse before a family emergency sidelined me for a while. Wife wants to buy me the whole kit and then all the colors that don't come with that as well. I guess if she wants to who am I to stand in her way. Good luck to all.
