I haven't had anymore problems with mine and love it. I hate that your friend had a bad experience with them. I can only comment on how i was treated. With the experience I had, I'll buy again. Hopefully I won't go through what your friend went through.

Ketchn thanked you for this post
Thanks to everyone for the replies so far. I spend the majority of my time walleye fishing and have numerous St Croix and Fenwick rods. What has piqued my interest with ACC is that I can’t imagine using one of the St Croix or Fenwick rods in a medium power fast action. They’re really stout rods at that power rating. I’ve used the medium lights in those manufacturers when crappie fishing and usually just use a light power rod but thought about getting a couple nice dedicated crappie rods and was surprised to see the medium power rating. The fast action tips must be really nice and soft if they are able to cast those light weight jigs
I have the 13 foot crossover rod with the super grip & use it all the time. I really like it. It's sensitive & can flip a pretty good fish in the boat.
I have the 7' & use it every time out. I would buy another one. No doubt about it.

I have always heard they were super light and sensitive rods. I have also heard that they have thin walls and sometimes they will snap in half. I seen a few videos online were this has happened. I have been told that they have excellent customer service and typically replace the rod with few questions asked. I already have around 75 rods so I want be buying anymore in my lifetime.
I have a 6' 6" and it is a nice rod, but I like my 7' Sam Heaton super sensitive a little better. Hard to say why, maybe just the length, not sure. But that B'N' M is my go-to.

I fish weekly with their 13ft Crossovers for over a year now and won't hesitate to put heat on any accidental by catch (doesn't happen TOO often with scope), but occasionally a catfish and yesterday, a striper, will suck down a jig. I use and abuse them, definitely from two different batches of rods because they've been ordered months apart and the green is different shades. I've got a pair of 11fters I used to use all the time, I bought used from here, before I settled on the 13ft. Same thing. No issues. I swung the striper in yesterday, if you can call it "swinging" when it was 18-19" long, just to see if it would break. I really don't want to put more money into something I'm not 100% convinced of. I rarely swing anything over 1.5" as I usually dont target fish that big in practice, and in tournies, I'll net those anyway, but they've got piles of 1.5-2.4lb fish under their belt. Buddy foul hooked a 5-6lb carp with one of their new 1 piece 6.5ft rods the other day, held up fine.
I'm not sponsored by them. But of the two 13' Crossovers, 11ft rear seats, 6ft dock shooter, and dad has an 8fter and 10fter, I've got no complaints what so ever. Personally, if it broke on a catfish, it wouldn't hurt my feelings. I see a ton of people these days fishing braid (including myself), and lock the drag down. When a catfish or other big fish makes a run, something has to give, and usually, it's high modulus carbon. Customer service is right, they weren't designed for that. Several rods I own will hold up to that kind of abuse, but as such, those properties that allow that, make them less desirable for me. I haven't tried HH, Jenko, Huckabee, so I can't speak to their durability, but did have a friend break an HH swinging a crappie in. For reasons other than that, I dont think you could pay me to fish an HH. I do want to give either the 15ft Jenko or 16ft Huckabee a shot though.
Have to agree to disagree. I would personally never use a rod that the company told me to cut my line if I hooked a big fish. It’s literally one of the stupidest things I have ever heard from a rod company or really any company period. If it was my company that person would not work for me anymore.
I really don’t care one way or another, just know several people that have had bad experiences with them and as others have pointed out here as well, every time these rods are discussed a lot of breakage comes up. Every company is going to have rods break, people are hard on them material flaws etc. But the percentage of breakage seems to be very high for ACC compared to the others.
