settle down are the shad , water temps are in the low 60 range in the morning and high 60 range in the afternoon and sure as can be, the larger shad are starting to ball up on the bottom.
makes for less midrange activity and roaming and that in turn makes the crappie settle in on them. the little bitty shad are still up on the surface though and in the end it is about the bait .
the fish are often on the wind blown side of the lake right now as well, up tight to the bank feeding on the tiny shad that are fairly helpless in the wave action and cooler water.
look in short water if you want to hit them good in north Texas , the really active fish are hanging around in less than 10 foot of water as I type this and want the bait passing by them ....
soon to sit rather still are the fish , just saying
tip of the week ....
