I have three of the Zebco Omega Pro Z02 reels .
I need to fish them more . I have them spooled with 4# test and mounted on Ultralight casting rods .
    I grew up fishing Zebco 33’s .
Planning on taking a couple of them fishing tomorrow.

First reels I ever used Crappie fishing (& other species) were spincast reels. I don't remember brands/models, so I'm not sure if there were any Zebco reels in the mix. Fast forward a couple decades and I had a couple Zebco Omega 171 UL reels that I used for Crappie fishing, and caught many a Slab (12+ inch fish) on them. They were the reels I was using when I first was taught the method I call Vertical Casting. 4# line and a white Popeye jig was used, and that was the first time I remember experiencing "the thump".

Read some review complaints of rusting parts. At least their baid on spincast reels does well.

Update on spincast reels in general and braid:
Some spincast reels do not cast light lures using braid due to braid's slightly coarser texture and especially when the cap's line exit hole is small. In that case, fluorocarbon or monowork far bettercasting 1/16 oz or heavier lures a longer distance without linr hanging up inside the cap. I almost threw away an old spincastreel that had braid. The braid was replaced with old Suffic mono and it casts a mile.
