I normally start out the same way and change my colors as the fish tell me what they want… some times I end with all the same colors some times they stay different

When I troll tandem jigs on 2 poles, I have noticed a trend. I always choose 2 different colors for the top and bottom jigs. 4 different colors in total. 90% of the fish are caught on the bottom jig regardless of color. My assumption is that the first jig gets their attention and the second triggers a reaction strike.

I have a tendency to put a bright one on top and trail it with a dark one. I figure the bright one will catch their attention and catch bold crappie, and the dark trailer will get those that are shy.
And yes, I too seem to catch more on the bottom one.

it is likely they see both and just target the one trailing as it would be the natural choice for a predator to pick off the slower pedestrian
