Default BIG CRAPPIE time is near

Fall can and often does, produce some of the better fish of the year . We are starting to see some BIG crappie in these parts . I haven't seen them up close myself , but the stories and images are starting to roll in .
One of my basically pro buds was livescoping some short water timber the other day and in 9 foot of water on old timber 6 foot tall and there were just stacks of slabs , his images blew my mind , lots of 2 plus fish and I just had to call and get the low down since he mentioned it was on one of my favorite local spots .
He is about as good as it gets when it comes to crappie in these parts and not for hire , he is looking for a 3 lb fish in this area and they are SUPER rare in the DFW , east of here there are a few, but in this area about ZERO . His best to date in this area is 2.7 and here goes the fish story ....
Seems one stump had a big fish on the top of it 3 foot under the surface , thought is was a plump bass and pitched his jig at it for grins , on the hook up it was on the surface instantly and green as it gets , fish realized it was hooked as they looked in each others eyes and then went berserk and pitched the jig back at him !
he don't bs and exaggerate "if" he tells you about the fish and he said it might have well been a 3 lb fish . said it made his eyes get large and heart skip a beat and he about never ever says that about ANY fish .....
    just saying ya"ll
gear up for the fall run , the fish are really bulking up and getting ready for it and so should you.

Only reason i'm not working now is because of knee surgery but when i do go back in late september it's 6 days a week & 10 hours a day so i probably won't get to do much fishing then either. My main priority will be getting better with my livescope but hopefully i can catch a few to eat too on that one day off a week because they sure do taste good for sure.

Come on cooler weather. 90 degree days are about to be over soon.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
