Shakespeare make a Microlight series of rods. Cork handle and good backbone. They are under $30 that leaves a lot left for the reel

Try to narrow down your choices then if at all possible go and put those rods/ reels in your hand and see how you like them.
everybody has their own feel to what they like. I have bought more expensive set ups without getting to feel them and have absolutely hated em. I personally like A 7’ rod with some backbone and sensitivity and I have personally found that to be a 7’ Wally Marshall speed shooter with a pflueger president reel.

Piscifun Viper X 1000 spinning reel can be bought at Amazon for 26.99. Use the rest to find a good rod in your budget. Duckett Crappie Slayer at Sportsman's warehouse for 69.00. Bass Pro Panfish Elite for 79.99. Lew's Wally Marshall spinning rod 59.99. There's ton of options depending on the rod or reel you choose.

That’s a pretty good budget. You should be able to get a nice selection to choose from. Thinks about how you will be using it and let that help guide you.

Depends on what technique you are going to use most. Sometimes it’s better to have a quality reel, sometimes the rod needs to be more sensitive. Wish I could tell you that one combo does it all, that’s just not the case.

Good luck, hope all works out for you. If you only had 0 to spend on a Crappie spinning rod & reel
