    My grandad and uncles used a weight and quick connect swivel like this. They might have been rich if they would have marketed it, and I could have had a big inheritance.

    After seeing this post I tried this tip this evening as I had been losing jigs left and right. I got hung up atleast 6 or more times and this worked every single time, it's the first time out this year I haven't lost a jig ! Thanks !

    I have doubts. If it doesn't work the first time it hits, you lost your jig and the knocker. You need to be able to retrieve your knocker. Sometimes it takes more than one knock.

    Now I use one of my trolling weights with a snap on each end. Run line through the snaps.

    We had a string to retrieve spark plug if it did not free the jig/hook the first time .
