    Default You just never know what you're gonna catch on a Bandit


    I've pulled Bandits a lot ... but that is a first for me. Hopefully the last! That dude stunk something awful!
    I thought it was a foul hooked catfish for a while ... never would have thought one could nab a 300 at 1.5 mph!

    I might have given that critter the bandit. Yep, I would have cut that line and moved to a different area to fish. I ain't fooling with creatures like that. LOL

    Looks like a soft shelled turtle. They can really swim with those large webbed feet but don't have much of a bite! Old dude wasn't playing around- he was hungry!

    I hooked a snapping turtle a few years ago on a Pico INT crank with rnvinc and CRP4570 on board. I handed the rod to Rickie, thinking it was hung up. He tried to break it off then realized the hang-up was coming to the boat. When it got to the transom, they both yelled with excitement. The snapper had all he wanted and turned to swim away as the line broke. They both swore it was as big as my Suzuki engine cowling!!
