    Hi Wayne

what acc rods do you have, i have the 6 1/2 footer and it is about one of my favorite rods for feeling the bite. i never healed a sam heaton SS rod. but some tell me they are more whippy type when compared to the Acc rod, what do u think

definitely more whippy than an ACC rod.

was out yesterday for crappie, was using the 6 1/2 ft ACC rod with 4lb Nanofil like and a 6lb fluoro leader. was using a small 1/32oz jig with a small plastic bait, i am overwhelmed with the sensitivity with this combo of line and rod, but i felt a slight tug, set the hook and at first i thought i was stuck but after a minute or so, i was pulling and reeling in gently due to the line weight, after about a minute i realizes i was pulling something from the deep, after 20 min or so i got a look and it was a snapping turtle around 25lbs, was not gonna mess with it, tried to take the best pic i can, cut the line and it went down. notice where i hooked it.

Landed a pretty large rainbow carp and some good sized cats with my 6 1/2 crappie stick
