    Default Crappie bites

How can I make my crappie bites stay on the hook longer? Shortly after I let in down in the water, I pull it up and it’s 3/4 gone, if not all the way gone.

Spill the bottle. It will take some time to get them all back in the bottle.

Drying them out won’t make them too hard to put hook in, and will it stay on the hook longer?

The outside will firm up some. The inside will remain soft

fresh out of the bottle they are pretty soft , a few laid out stiffen up nicely , we use trays with magnets on the back and pour out 30 or so at a time when we are in my buds boat .
takes them a long time to get tooo hard to run the hook thru them

I heard even if they get to hard you can put back in jar with a little slab sauce or water and they rehydrate
I haven’t tried though. I don’t put them back in the jar before they get fished

I’m going to give you a tip. From January 2001 through December 2004 I was on the water 5 days a week 52 weeks a year…..without fail. I went though more crappie nibbles in those 4 years than most people will go through in a lifetime. I continued to use them up until about 2010. One of the reasons I used so many is they do not stay on the hook. You can try all the stuff you’re going to hear about how to make them stay but I think you will find nothing really helps. In 2010 I started using the Berkley Power Wigglers in chartreuse color. I take one Wiggler and cut it into 3 pieces and store them in an old Crappie Nibble jar. They stay on the hook. Many times I can catch 4 or 5 fish on the same Wiggler piece. I can get all the Crappie Nibbles I want for free…..I don’t want em. I no longer fish 5 days a week but I still fish a lot, and one pack of Power Wigglers will last me 4 months. I’ve tried a lot of different brand nibbles over the years and I haven’t found any of them to be better than another….and none of them stay on the hook well.

    Regards
